Beginning in the fall of 2022, UCLA will guarantee up to four years of housing in university-owned residences for incoming freshmen and two years for transfer students. The guarantee fulfills a long-held aspiration that campus leaders first articulated in a student housing master plan in 1986 and is the first such commitment among the University of California’s nine undergraduate campuses.
“Living on or near campus contributes greatly both to students’ educational experiences and to the richness of our community,” said UCLA Chancellor Gene Block. “This guarantee represents a crucial milestone for UCLA.”
The Los Angeles Business Council (LABC) hosted a series of local candidate forums for: City Attorney and Council District 5 (December 16, 2021),
LA County Supervisor District 3 (February 15, 2022) and LA Mayor (February 28, 2022). As part of UCLA’s commitment to community and civic engagement, UCLA cosponsored these candidate forums and expects to organize and cosponsor additional events throughout this election year.
